Description

UPDATE: Sold Sunday, January 11th, 2015

Though the bidding for this dragon sculpture has ended and he has been sold, I still have some other totally original OOAK sculptures available for purchase &/or bid at eBay. So if you'd like to keep up with my eBay sales and auctions, I welcome you to follow me there: www.ebay.com/usr/shieldoflinde…

I am so excited. It's hard to say goodbye to this little guy, as he did turn out very adorable (I think, but as his creator, I'm biased), but it's also heart-warming to think of him going to a new home where he will be much loved.

Soli Deo Gloria!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am in the process of designing and creating little unicorns, pegasi (is that the plural of "pegasus"?), and dragons. I want these to be as cute as possible, and as small as I can comfortably make them. This is, and evermore shall be, the only little dragon like it in the world. (I.e., no molds or casts were used in the creation of this piece, nor were any molds or casts made from this piece.) While I plan to continue sculpting new little dragons, my sincere hope--only by any grace God grants me through any talent He cultivates in me--is that I will continue to hone my skills and keep redesigning dragons, bringing out and refining my own style, hoping it becomes more distinctive with every work of art I make. All that to say that, even if I make dozens or hundreds of little polymer dragons in the future, each one will be different from all the others.
I love working small. This little critter measures less than 3 inches tall. It's made almost exclusively of coloured, pearlescent polymer clay--only the eyes are made of onyx. No paint was used to colour this sculpture, nor was any foil filler or wire armature used. My signature is on the underside of its belly.
This took a little less than 2 hours to sculpt, using about half an ounce of light blue clay. This was the 3rd (out of 3) critters I made through the night between August 28th and August 29th 2014. December of 2014 is the first time I've shown it publicly or put photos of it online.
(The background I used for the photos is just some fantasy-themed card stock that I thought looked so cool with this little baby dragon, or as I cannot help but pronounce it whenever I look at this little cutie, "da wittow bubby dwagon")
