Custom Teal Frog Sculpture

I sculpted this little frog (actually a bit large for me--let's call it life-sized-ish) as a commission for Meggie. The only stipulations she gave me were that it be a frog and it be teal. Other than that, she left all other design decisions up to me. (I love that! Hooray for creative freedom!) The frog is made from coloured polymer clay with onyx eyes and an armature structure made of wire, aluminum foil, and floral tape, to give those spindly limbs some strength and form. Absolutely no paint was used to create this piece. Sculpted on Monday, June 1st, 2015, it took approximately 6 hours, about twice the time that I had estimated in my mind that it would take, but I did learn some things--namely, how to make life easier on myself next time I make a frog, if, Lord willing, I ever do sculpt another frog. I love how it's basically a pair of googly eyes with a bunch of fingers/toes attached. Every time I look at this frog (and it looks back up at me with those big, shining, enormous eyes), it assures me that it has a winning face.

This piece is sold and thus not available for purchase. However, if you are interested in having me make a custom sculpture for you, please inquire of me, and I'd love to discuss the details with you! While I may not be able to meet every request for art (for various reasons--I appreciate your understanding), it probably wouldn't hurt to ask me, as I do enjoy taking commissions when I can.
